Homestead Circus started in Montreal, when two independent US artists fell in love with the possibilities of the
circus, and decided to start dreaming big and invest everything in realizing their dreams. With the shared belief that both circus and nature are good for the soul and the development of character, Homestead Circus is dedicated to building a sustainable circus culture in Western Colorado, and creating a limitless space where people can discover the breadth of their physical, emotional, and creative potential – while developing a keen connection to nature and eating homegrown foods.
By constantly developing and deepening the possibilities of circus and physical theater through diverse inspirational sources, we aim to be Western Slope Colorado’s center for transformational experiences arising from circus, and to cohesively support and perpetuate sustainable circus culture (through all the elements: schooling, education, dedicated events, networking, hosting/presenting artists, and community growth).
Our goal is to Develop circus as an art form in Western Slope Colorado through:
- circus entertainment & experiences
- classes/workshop intensives that inspire people of all ages to discover & develop circus skills.
- artistic and educational advancement, by hosting renowned circus performers and teachers within our vast network
- working with artists and the community to promote the liberating possibilities of circus and physical theater.
- Build a creative space inspired by diverse artistic influence, where artists can reflect and develop their art
